The three most important factors in waterfowl hunting and real estate are LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. You can have the best-looking spread on the block but if you're hunting on the wrong block, you're wasting your time. This amazing tract is located in the heart of Southeast Oklahoma's most famous waterfowling area. With almost 6,000 acres of dedicated wetlands and wildlife management, Red Slough WMA is the first cornerstone that make this area a primetime traffic and wintering area for tens of thousands of migrating ducks. Combine that with the Red River migration route and insane amount of private wetland habitat and row crop farming, this area of Oklahoma is about as ducky as it gets. Located inside and oxbow of the Red River, the multiple sloughs and flooded timber holes of this property will give wintering birds and diehard waterfowl hunters everything they need. As an added bonus, the hunting doesn't stop with ducks. This property boasts terrific deer and hog hunting, as well as fishing, allowing the hunting opportunities to last all year long. Access through the property is also fantastic, with tons of trails that will get your duck rig where you need to go. This exciting tract bridges the gap between wilderness and convenience very well, maximizing your enjoyment and hunting success. Wetland properties like this are always in high demand, so don't wait to give Sean a call to set up a tour.

The Ouachita National Forest covers nearly 1.8 million acres in central Arkansas and southeast Oklahoma. It is the oldest and largest National Forest in the Southern Region. When first established by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1907, it was named the Arkansas National Forest. President Calvin Coolidge renamed it to Ouachita in 1926. Ouachita (pronounced wash-i-tah) is the French spelling of a Native American word meaning "good hunting ground."
The Ouachita is primarily a pine-hickory mix. It has over 700 miles of trails for various activities such as hiking, mountain biking, interpretive, equestrian, off-road vehicles, and trails that allow for accessibility. There are multiple developed recreation areas, scenic areas, vistas, shooting ranges, historical sites, wilderness areas, and one National recreation area. Most of the developed recreation areas are open April through September, but some sites are open year-round. Contact one of the Forest Service offices for more information regarding open seasons and fees.
With mild winters and an average annual rainfall between 42 and 52 inches per year the area is conducive to growing a lot of fruits, vegetables, flora and fauna.
