The Mount Holly Timber Portfolio is an excellent, varied, and diverse timber opportunity in a very productive and active region for wood production in southern Arkansas. The first of these holdings were initially acquired in the 1960s and have been especially productive and well-managed by top regional industry professionals since then. The total package contains over 50 parcels with soft and hardwood properties with most of these being relatively close to each other in four counties.
As a testament to this strength of this particular region, there are two major, active sawmill companies in the area. Potlatch and Canfor both have had significant and recent infusions of new capital.
Total estimated timber volumes have recently been measured by Neill Forestry Consultants in 1-acre plots:
Pine sawlogs – 62,788 tons
Red Oak sawlogs – 21,830 tons
White Oak sawlogs – 6,842 tons
Gum sawlogs – 13,024 tons
Misc hardwood sawlogs – 9,183 tons
Pine pulpwoods – 24,671 tons
Hardwood pulpwood – 39,403 tons
