Located 27 miles south of Duchesne Utah . The area is known for it's recreational activities. There are 4 distinct seasons featuring cold snowy winters, warm sunny summers and spring and fall with temperatures ranging from the 40's to the 60's on the average
Duchesne is the county seat and has all of the necessary shopping of a small community.
History
Duchesne County was formed in 1914 and was likely named after the Duchesne River that runs through the town. The river is believed to have been named by 1820's fur trappers, likely in honor of Mother Rose Philippine Duchesne, a Catholic nun.

Nielsen Indian Canyon Ranch is located on Hwy 191, 27 miles south of Duchesne Utah. It is approximately 2.5 hours from Salt Lake City International Airport and 1.5 hours from Vernal Utah and it's regional airport.
