The Chula Road East and Chula West Tracts will be offered by lump sum sealed bid on Friday, July 11, 2025. Bids may be submitted for either or both tracts.
The Chula Road East Tract is located seven (7) miles northwest of Story, and fourteen (14) miles north of Mt. Ida, Arkansas and is described as Part of E of NW lying east of Chula Road, S of NE, all located in Section 1, Township 1 North, Range 25 West, containing a total of 125 GIS Acres, more or less, Yell County, Arkansas (see attached maps).
Access is frontage on Chula / NF 17 Road with woods road for internal access. Terrain is flat to gently rolling with scenic Irons Fork Creek. Timber consists of a mix of native pine and merchantable pine plantations, ready to harvest. Site index for loblolly pine (base age 50) averages eighty (80) feet on very stony and sandy loam soils. Tract offers immediate timber income and hunting / fishing / recreation opportunities.
Based on inventory of merchantable timber conducted by Kingwood Forestry in April, 2025, estimated tree counts and timber volumes are as follows:
Pine Sawtimber: 7,632 Tons
Pine CNS: 391 Tons
Pine Pulpwood: 1,349 Tons
Pine Topwood: 1,439 Tons
Red Oak Sawtimber: 69 Tons
White Oak Sawtimber: 22 Tons
Gum & Misc. Sawtimber: 88 Tons
Hardwood Pulpwood: 508 Tons
