Soils
The soils are 60% clay soils from the Sharkey and Dowling series and 40% silt and sandy loams from the Commerce, Bosket, and Tunica series. These soils are well suited for raising cotton, corn, and soybeans which are the primary crops grown on the area. Corn and soybeans have been the crop rotation for several years.
