This 190 acre property is located in the hills of Holmes co Ms, in T15N, R5E, sec 27. Just off Sand Hill Road, a paved co rd, Onto Doc Davis Rd, a gravel county rd that borders the property for 1/2 mile.
There are 3 entrances off Doc Davis rd onto the property. Each trail follows a ridge to the north almost all the way to Shipp Creek.
About half way down the ridge on the third trail there is a small unobtrusive cabin.
Although it seems primitive and easy to overlook, it does have running water.
In the 1960s'The United States Government built a series of Watershed Damns in the Hills above the Missippi River Delta to help to help control flooding and one of those was built on Shipp Creek. They were not designed to be large lakes but to be able to handle excess amounts of water during rainy seasons but they still created some beautiful lakes for the fortunate land owners, even during the Dry seasons. These structures are built like Fort Knox and are still maintained by the USA even after all these years.
This property has been under the same ownership for about 40 years and it appears that with his help this forest has been able to avoid the timber mans axe all these years.
The hills and hollows are full of beautiful timber and wildlife is abundant.
The lake and structure probably takes up bout 20 acres and the remainder is covered with beautiful timber.
Its a pleasant surprise to find a property that has mostly been mostly left alone all these years.
