If you are in the market for a place to hunt, the Croton Creek ranch is waiting on you. Deep canyons and hills cover this ranch as Croton Creek snakes its way through the property. There are plenty of deer found throughout the ranch. The quail have made an impressive comeback this year and appears this will be a season to remember.
Location: The property is located east of Jayton off of U.S. 380 and CR 340. Take CR 340 north approximately ten miles to the gate.
Water: Ranch has three dirt tanks and a water well with a solar pump. There is a second water well on the north fence line. This one is a new well that has been cased but has never had a pump installed. Croton Creek is also another source of water.
Electricity: There is a meter at the water well. There is also a meter loop near the entrance but currently does not have a meter installed.
Fences: A large portion of the fences are new. The remaining fences are in good condition.
Wildlife: Whitetail deer, feral hogs, quail, varmints and dove can all be found on the ranch.
Terrain: The terrain is diversified on this ranch with draws and hills covering a big part of the property. Mesquite, cedar and some hackberry are predominately found in these areas along with a variety of native grasses. There is also some bottomland found in an area joining Croton Creek with lush grass and sunflowers scattered throughout.
