Saddle Ridge Ranch is a turnkey 240-acre hunting ranch located just southwest of Holdenville in Hughes County, OK, 80 miles from OKC and 150 miles from the northeast extent of the Dallas Metro. Perhaps more importantly, it is in the heart of trophy buck territory at the confluence of South Canadian and Little River systems. In short, it was the perfect setting for a group of steward owners to acquire and transform a fantastic property with some very interesting features into a wildlife haven. Four years of hard work have gone into cutting trails, manicuring food plots, running feeders, providing mineral supplements and remodeling the farmhouse. The name of the ranch comes from a ridge that runs along its western boundary. There are three peaks along the ridge with saddles between them that funnel the deer onto the property. In addition, the property straddles the drainage divide between the South Canadian and Little River watersheds with draws from both extending up and into the property. Consequently, wildlife can travel through this property as a shortcut between the two watersheds. There are three small ponds plus an area that could be turned into a duck slough with standing timber. There are two nice pond sites near the farmhouse that could be built to hold 1 to 3 acres of water, each. Speaking of the farmhouse, this 1950's era ranch style home has three bedrooms and one bathroom, washroom, kitchen, dining room and living room. A small porch covers the front entry, and a garage is attached to the east side of the house. It's good enough to use indefinitely or could be a place to stay until you build your dream cabin.
