22-Acre Story for Sale I’m not so much selling land here, as selling a story. Ok fine, I’m selling land. You’ll get 22.7 acres deeded to you with general warranty of title in five tracts. But the story is the most interesting part. In around 2013 (give or take), according to the Google Earth satellite history, someone started building a REALLY nice home up above their orchard with a nice pond here in Patrick County, Virginia. It was two stories on a full walkout basement. It had gables, and a large bonus room off the back, and poured basement, and a swanky outdoor grilling area. It had cool masonry piled up ready to be laid. It set well up on this hill with beautiful views off the beaten track way down in the country. If you look in my photo reel you’ll see how it looked back then, with the carefully pruned fruit trees and all. And then? They stopped. No roof. No siding. No doors, or windows, or trim, or anything like that. Just pulled off the jobsite and left everything. Tools, materials, plans, all sitting there like the day they left it, housewrap blowing in the breeze forlornly like last year’s dreams. It was never even dried in! There’s even a stack of once-new hardwood flooring (breaks your heart) sitting moldering in the grand entrance. Maybe there are clues to why they pulled up stakes. Death, divorce, disease?
