East Dayton Woods

34+ acres of rolling wooded hunting / recreational land located on a paved road about a mile and a half southeast of Caro. The land is a combination of both high and low ground. The front part of the property between the road and the creek is mostly low brushy ground. It is likely not a buildable area. Sucker Creek winds its way across the entire property from southeast to northwest. Currently there isn't a bridge over the creek, so access to the back half of the property is by wading across the creek. Its a good idea to bring along some rubber boots. The creek provides a good water source for the wildlife using the property including whitetail deer, wild turkey, and small game. The creek is also a tributary of the Cass River, and it supports a fishable population of bass, pike, and rock bass. The forest, beyond the creek, is a mix of rolling hardwood ridges, valleys of thick softwoods, and brushy low ground that follows along the 1200 or so feet of creek frontage. Trees species include elm, ash, oaks, cherry, maple, hickory, hemlock and apple. The larger part of the parcel, beyond the creek, is very secluded, bounded to the north and east by larger private tracts. The northeast corner has remnants of an old pasture. A nice place to relax, maybe pitch a tent, gather round a warm fire and enjoy the night sky.
