The well-lit interior features vaulted wood ceilings, custom cabinetry, hardwood flooring, tile bathroom, a stone hearth, and touches like solid fir doors and dual paned wood-framed windows with lockable shutters. Outdoors, there is a spring-fed irrigation system, a custom concrete patio overlooking the river, a turnaround for larger vehicles, an outdoor cooking area, a campsite, and an outdoor shower, plus 13 varieties of trees and a seasonal creek. The well is 10 gpm with a 2,500-gal storage tank. The cabin is oriented to have the sun year-round, and the front porch offers scenic beauty, the sound of the river, and a peaceful place to relax and visit. The owners enjoy watching the wide variety of wildlife, including blacktail deer, wild turkeys, osprey and eagles, kingfishers, and mergansers. Seasonal wildflowers abound: yellow irises, scarlet fritillaries, shoot stars, and Oregon sunshine. The cabin is just over 12 miles from Ft Jones on a county-maintained paved road, which is plowed in the winter when it snows for easy year-round access. You're a short drive from the Marble Mountain Wilderness for summer trail access for hiking or horseback riding a great getaway!Tthe small town of Fort Jones offers groceries, dining, fuel, library, museum, hardware store and bank.  Fort Jones has elementary and junior high schools, and nearby Etna has a high school. The nearest small hospital is in the county seat of Yreka, less than half an hour away. Scott Valley has a small local airport as Valley is bordered by Klamath National Forest, Marble Mountain Wilderness, the Russian Wilderness, and the Trinity Alps.
