McClain County - 518 S Portland Avenue, Newcastle, OK
Designed as a private Oasis, 518 South Portland Avenue in Newcastle is a rare convergence of luxurious engineering, artistic expression, and enduring craftsmanship, custom built in 2013 and surrounded by 10 acres of secluded Oklahoma landscape, just minutes from modern conveniences.
Accessed by a private road shared by only four residences, the approach immediately signals intention and permanence. This is not a property that announces itself loudly it reveals itself gradually, rewarding those who value privacy, restraint, and thoughtful design. Though discreetly positioned behind an existing development, the setting feels entirely removed, offering a sense of separation that is increasingly rare.
Constructed using ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) technology, the home reflects a deliberate commitment to performance and longevity. This method provides superior energy efficiency, strength, and sound attenuation, creating a living environment that feels solid, quiet, and grounded. The engineering here is not merely functionalit is foundational to the homes character.
Inside, the home unfolds with calm confidence. Three bedrooms and three and a half baths are arranged to balance openness with retreat, allowing each space to feel intentional rather than incidental. The flow of the home is intuitive, designed to support daily living while preserving privacy where it matters most.
A spacious living room anchors the interior, offering scale without excess and comfort without compromise. It transitions seamlessly into a large dining area, creating an environment well suited for both everyday moments and elevated gatherings. Natural light, proportion, and materiality work together to create spaces that feel composed and inviting rather than overdesigned.
The transition from outdoors to indoors is equally refined. A side entry opens into a beautifully painted mud area, a functional space elevated through thoughtful detail. Nearby, a dedicated laundry area supports the rhythm of daily life without intruding on the homes aesthetic continuity.
The kitchen is a true centerpieceboth visually compelling and highly functional. Beautiful granite countertops provide richness and durability, while two oversized islands with cabinetry establish the kitchen as a central gathering space rather than a secondary one. A built-in gas cooktop and double ovens support both everyday cooking and entertaining with ease. Throughout the main living areas, modern, Slate flooring grounds the home in durability and understated elegance, reinforcing a design philosophy that values longevity over trend.
Together, these finishes create an environment that feels artistic yet deeply livable, where design enhances comfort rather than competing with it.
The homes private spaces further reflect its intentional design. The primary suite is privately positioned on its own side of the home, offering a true sense of retreat. This separation is not accidentalit is a defining feature of the layout, creating a sanctuary within the residence itself.
Within the primary suite, beautifully painted, artistic wood detailing adds warmth, individuality, and a sense of craftsmanship that cannot be replicated in production construction. The accompanying primary bathroom is spa-inspired, featuring a whirlpool soaking tub and an elegantly tiled shower, creating a space designed for restoration and calm.
On the opposite side of the home, two additional bedrooms are placed at opposite ends of a private hallway, each enjoying its own sense of space and quiet. Nestled between them is a beautifully finished secondary bathroom, along with a closet featuring custom shelving, forming a refined secondary wing that supports privacy while maintaining cohesion.
Subtle conveniences reinforce the homes custom nature. A central vacuum system is seamlessly integrated, enhancing daily ease without visual distraction. These are the kinds of features that do not call attention to themselvesbut quietly elevate the experience of living in the home.
The exterior continues the same language of durability and design. Metal siding and a metal roof were selected for longevity and low maintenance, ensuring the home performs as beautifully as it presents. An attached two-car garage supports practicality without compromising architectural integrity.
Both the covered front porch and covered back patio span the length of the home, creating outdoor living spaces that feel expansive and intentional. Exposed wood beams add warmth and structural expression, framing views of the surrounding landscape and reinforcing the homes connection to its setting.
Just beyond the backyard lies a one-acre pond, offering a serene waterfront presence that becomes part of daily life. Deer and wildlife are frequent visitors, moving easily through the property and reinforcing the sense that the land and home exist in harmony. Approximately five wooded acres include a dam nestled naturally among the trees, further enhancing privacy and tranquility. Open acreage to the west and north of the pond provides flexibilitywhether for recreation, pasture, or future vision.
Additional improvements include a 30 x 50 shop with concrete flooring, offering space for equipment, hobbies, or creative pursuits, and an above-ground pool for relaxed summer enjoyment. The property is served by public utilities for water and natural gas, blending modern reliability with the freedom of a secluded setting.
And yet, despite its connection to infrastructure, the property remains profoundly private. Tucked discreetly behind an existing development, the property unfolds into a world apartyour new Oasis.
This is a residence defined by quiet luxury, intentional separation, and enduring craftsmanshipa place where space, privacy, and design converge naturally.
Paradise isnt promised here. Its already present.

McClain County - 12503 130th Street, Lindsay, OK
Redbud Ranch is a 220-acre property located just north of Lindsay, OK a short quarter mile east of Highway 76. This property is a quick 30-mile drive from Norman and only 60 miles from downtown OKC. The ranch is accessed at its southwest corner at the end of a county-maintained road.
As you enter the property, the driveway descends a gentle slope to a 1380 sq foot, 2 bed, 1 bath house. The owners are currently doing some work on the home and pictures will be taken once they finish. At that point, the lake located just down the hill grabs your attention. Four acres of the 11-acre lake is on the property. This portion of the lake appears to have the best structure for holding fish. Numerous clumps of standing brush and timber are scattered along the edge of the lake but are isolated enough to allow easy fishing. A shallow neck extends up to a small clear water drainage that feeds the lake. The shallows are full of trees and snags that provide great cover for forage fish. In addition, the water of the lake is clear and you can see that there is a nice drop off about three feet from the bank. There is some nice aquatic vegetation at depth. We spent a few minutes casting a spinner bait and caught a couple of healthy bass.
A gravel road heads north and then east through the property to an oil/gas well in the far eastern pasture. This road provides great access to the entire property. In addition, it passes by the working pens and crosses the dam of two smaller ponds. The property is cross fenced into three main pastures and a holding lot but could be easily divided into four or five pastures with a little additional fencing. The soils range from Class 3 to Class 6, and with 160 open acres, the ranch has ample room for a small herd of cattle. We saw a nice group of Angus and Herefords that are in good shape and give an indication of carrying capacity for the ranch.
The wooded draws are full of green briar and oaks which are both great sources of protein for deer. The trails along the draws have been used so much that they look like someone has kept them cleared. In places where they cross the creek or go over the hill, they are beaten down into the ground. A little bit of management could really make this a special spot to hunt.
The roll of the land is a big plus. With three drainages separating four ridges, the ranch has nice elevation changes and big views. The view from the east side of the lake looking back to the west is particularly nice. Although there is a home on the property, we can envision a new house overlooking the lake from either side with a small dock for your friends and family to enjoy the water.
If you are looking for a place close to OKC that you can develop into your dream ranch, then please give Sean Childress a call at 580 320 5791.
