1,367 acres m/l. Barber County Kansas Private Lake Resort Ranch for Sale.
LAKE ARROWHEAD at M-BAR RANCH PRIVATE RESORT
The M-Bar Ranch story involves four generations of the Meairs family who make up the legacy of this large Central Kansas Ranch in Barber County.
Featuring over 66 acres of surface water, this ranch is home to Lake Arrowhead, Barber Countys largest body of water.
The land surrounding the lake offers excellent hunting and grazing, and the property boasts over 60 years of history since the lakes completion.
The Groundwork for this historic ranch started in the 1950s and took over 6 years of planning. Leo Shoemaker was the construction inspector. Leo explained that it was built under the Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Program, the same program used with the McAdoo Dam and Coldwater Dam. Lee Simpson and his son Roger, along with their crew, worked on the construction 5 days a week for 10 months.
Lake was completed in 1967 and was named Lake Arrowhead for its shape. The date for the completion of the 1,250-foot-long dam is listed in the United States Dams File as 1968. It took 10 months alone for the dam to be constructed; it is 40 feet at its highest point.
Ronda Noland (granddaughter of the patriarch) along with her husband Kevin have been managers of this ranch since 2006.
The property is located between Pratt and Medicine Lodge, Kansas 1 hour from Wichita Airport.
