Very unique to have a gem vein and gold prospecting on one claim.
A short drive are the Native American archaeological sites in the red sandstone canyon, home to ancient cliff dwellings with pictographs (ancient rock drawings).
The Palatki Heritage Site and its sister site, Honanki, were the largest cliff dwellings of the Red Rock Country between AD 1150 - 1350. They were first described by Dr. Jesse Walter Fewkes, famous turn-of-the century archaeologist from the Smithsonian Institution, who gave them the Hopi names of Honanki (Badger House) and Palatki (Red House).
Many Westerns have been filmed in this area, going back to the late, great John Wayne.
Further up the claim road are archaeological sites in a red sandstone canyon, home to ancient cliff dwellings with pictographs (ancient rock drawings).
Great nightly star gazing with clean air and dark skies.
The Sedona area follows a Dark Skies policy, meaning, all are asked to limit their outdoor lighting at night to take in the magnificent star gazing that this area is famous for.
The red rock scenery of Sedona has long been an iconic setting for Hollywood films about the Old West and a popular magnet for artists and tourists alike. Sedona is
committed to preserving its small-town charm, and thanks to the sustained efforts of concerned residents, its dark night skies. Owning a mining claim is having access to a lifetime of great family fun and recreation, in a very beautiful, natural setting: Arizona, is a great, scenic state, where the spirit of the old west still lives on.
We feel we are selling more than the gold and gems on beautiful land.
You would be acquiring an experience that will give you a good feel for what the old time prospectors must have felt during the days of the original Arizona Gold Rush.
A mining claim is an affordable way to enjoy the beauty of the land combined with the adventure of panning for gold and searching for gems.

Up the buttes on the claim are good places for gems.
It is a good sign that the federal govt. has withdrawn minerals in this area speaking to the value for owning claims in this area outside of the areas withdrawn.
National Forests remained open at all times during the virus with a televised invitation by the Director for families to visit them as safe places for family recreation, making our mining claims some of the safest places for your family to enjoy and get away from all the nonsense.
A lode claim differs from our placer claims, as on a lode claim you can dig into the mountain side and can even go to the extent of building a mine shaft.
Having a lode claim is an advantage as you can dig into the claim with a shaft if you choose,
and with the washes also on the claim, you can also prospect in the washes for gold, increasing your prospecting potential.
Our lode claim has a valuable mineral of crystals in veins (called lodes) cutting thru rocks.
Quartz and crystals are frequently found together and digging into the quartz vein is called chasing the vein.
A vein of quartz runs thru the claim, where we found some crystal deposits as well as turquoise deposits.
On the claim I found a crystal vein with crystals in the rock and a turquoise vein, with turquoise in the rock. Turquoise is the official Arizona state gem.
Pick and shovel, rock hammer, metal detector, and is hard rock mining.
I did not expose the whole veins, though was able to follow them going through the claim, intermittently.
The process of lode, hard rock mining, is the process where gems are extracted directly from the lode vein beneath the ground. Dig down about 3 feet as go through the claim, then pick, shovel, and rock hammer working the sides of that hole. Filling in the holes when leave the claim as required by the national forest.
For the use of any machinery, you need to file a Plan of Operation with the BLM for approval.
Scratch your rock ore against an unglazed white ceramic streak plate.
If it's gold, it will leave a golden streak. Or scratch the surface of the specimen with a knife. Gold is a soft metal that will show scratch marks.
The claim is located in a valley surrounded by buttes, rock formations, and mountains where summer rains bring down gems and gold into the valley onto the claim.
Find gems on your claim for your personal collection or start your own gem selling business.
The Sedona area has a number of people whose gem business is thriving.
As a claim owner, no one else can use the gold and gems on your claim nor even look for them.
There are also Sedona jewelers whose sole business is to cut and polish gems for jewelry if you choose to go that route.
Using a battery operated water recirculating wash plant, dry washer, or gold magic spin wheel need little or no water for your prospecting, and a rock hounding kit, noted on the listing is a free gift for you.
See pictures of those on the listing.
ARIZONA ROCKHOUDING
Arizona is one of the best states in the United States for finding gemstones in the wild. Gemstones can be found all across the state of Arizona, and over eight main types of rocks and minerals can be collected there. Arizona is an incredible place to rockhound, not just because of its diversity of native gemstones but also because of its beautiful natural landscapes.
Rockhounding is more than just a hobby; it is a lifestyle. Arizona is a fantastic place to find rocks, minerals, and crystals that can be displayed in a collection, made into jewelry, or sold to local jewelry and rock and mineral stores. There are also a variety of Arizona-based rock and gem shows that you can attend or even sell your own specimens.
Arizona, The Grand Canyon State, is obviously no stranger to rocks and gemstones.
Arizona is one of the highest caliber rockhounding states and receives visitors from all corners of the world in search of Arizona gold, rocks, gemstones, minerals and fossils which find themselves scattered across this geologic treasure trove.
Theres a reason that one of the largest gem and mineral shows in the world is held in Arizona. Every winter in Tucson, Arizona, exhibitors from all over the world come together to show off their collections of rocks, gemstones and minerals.
The wash on the claim will multiply your gold prospecting potential and the surrounding area of buttes and mountains are good places for gems.
For you off roaders, a jeep climb is in the area to test your adventure driving, known as the Diamond Back Sedona Hill Climb.
Mining Claims are also a great investment, as claims go up in value over time, just as land does.
if you purchase a claim from us, at no charge, I would help you if you ever decided to sell in the future.
Yavapai County where our claims are located in the central part of Arizona, ranks first historically in the State in gold production.
Our claims are in the same area of the Jerome (Verde) Mining District which has a history of being the largest gold producing area in Arizona, having contributed about 1,565,000 ounces of gold over the years, with the county history of gold discoveries being 3,800,000 ounces of gold.
Though mineral deposits were known in this area long before the Civil War, the first prospectors were Union soldiers with mining experience from California.
We are excited about the gems you will find in this area.
Known also as a gem area, when the rains start coming, Verde Valley rockhounds come running. The gem hunting in this area is so popular that a large club is active in Sedona.
Quartz is abundant and is also an area for crystals, turquoise, amethyst, jasper, agates, opals and some can be found above ground.
The Sedona Rockhounding Club has one area they explore being from Sedona stretching southwest to the town of Crown King.
Our claims are in this direct path for gem exploration.

Yavapai County - 48135 North Steve Lane, Ash Fork, AZ
Escape to your own tranquil 1.2 acres in the Kaibab Estates high country, where mature junipers dot the land and long mountain and mesa views stretch to the horizon. At 5,240 feet, the air runs cooler and the desert heat stays behind — a refreshing retreat from the Arizona valley.
You're not starting from zero. This gentle-sloping corner lot already has sand footings and a sand pile in place — previously set as a foundation base for a mobile home and included free with the lot — plus a rough driveway already cut into the parcel. That's real groundwork done before you break ground.
Zoned RCU-2A for a single-family home, with room for a manufactured or site-built tiny home too, and short-term vacation rentals permitted with the right dwelling and inspection. A clean canvas with a jump start.
Secluded but not stranded: county-maintained access, 12 minutes to Ash Fork, 30 to Williams, about an hour to Prescott, and I-40 close by. Stock up on supplies, cruise Route 66, or visit Bearizona — then come home to quiet under the junipers.
The numbers are clean: taxes just ~$77/year, current through 2025, no back taxes and no liens. Well and septic would be required; power is available via APS line extension or go alternative/off-grid with propane.
Cool pines, clear skies, footings already set, and buildable freedom — land like this doesn't sit long. Make it your slice of heaven.

Yavapai County - Ranch Road, Black Canyon City, AZ
The ability to control a completely private valley on over two sections of deeded land just 20 miles north of Metropolitan Phoenix should speak to the significant potential with this property. The property is well suited for custom home sites or as an elite private compound. Mining uses could also be prevalent as the mineral estate is intact with the surface. The two sections are leased to an adjacent ranch which makes this an attractive investment hold with reduced property taxes.
Oro Peak is located just 20 miles north of the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Companys (TSMC) $65B plant and the $7B Sonoran Oasis Science and Technology Park at I-17 & Loop 303!

Yavapai County - 00 S Joe Hancock Trl, Congress, AZ
Forty acres of wide-open Arizona ranchland with a pond feature, dramatic mountain views, and hard-to-find privacy. Set in Saddle Creek Ranch near Congress, this parcel offers room to plan a custom desert estate while remaining part of an established rural community.
The land is mostly open and usable, with maintained dirt-road access and multiple vantage points across the surrounding high desert. Its scale, scenery, and rural-residential setting make it a compelling fit for a buyer who wants acreage, privacy, and long-term value. The mountain backdrop and pond feature give the property visual character while the acreage leaves room between you and neighboring properties.
Owner financing is available with $31,500 down and approximately $1,644 per month for 84 months at 11.9%. The cash price is $124,900.
Property highlights:
- 40 acres in Yavapai County
- Pond feature and panoramic mountain views
- R1L-10A rural-residential zoning
- Space for a custom homesite and privacy
- Survey and recorded community documents available for review
A few things to note:
The property is in deed-restricted Saddle Creek Ranch. Current records call for a site-built home of at least 1,800 square feet, a maximum of two stories, architectural committee approval, and HOA dues of approximately $312 per year. There is no municipal water or sewer, so a private well and septic system would be needed for development. Pond water level and seasonal availability are not guaranteed. Buildability is unverified; buyers should complete their own due diligence and confirm the current CC&Rs, roads, access, utilities, water availability, soils, septic feasibility, and permitting with the HOA and Yavapai County before purchasing.
