The timber on the tract is a mix of merchantable, loblolly pine plantations of various ages, mature hardwood bottoms and some young natural regeneration as well. There are about 200 acres of once thinned 20 year old (+-) pine that could be thinned again right now. This stand of pine timber is really nice, very tall and straight and some could be managed for pole quality timber I think. There are about 410 acres of 10-15 year old (+-) pine that will need thinning soon, some is probably close now. The hardwood along the creek bottoms is nice, with multiple species of oak and also gum, poplar, etc...These hardwood areas will be good places to hunt and will provide a good food source for the wildlife. Lastly, there are about 170 acres of natural regeneration timber on the north end of the property. This area is thick with pine and varying hardwood species and should provide excellent cover/browse for wildlife as well as producing some timber revenue in the future.
The most notable feature of the Lake Harding Tract is undoubtedly the frontage not only on Lake Harding but also on Halawakee Creek. Lake Harding is a 5850 acre reservoir on the Chattahoochee River that is located in Harris County, GA but also extends into certain parts of AL. It has become a popular recreational destination for fishing, boating, etc... with multiple homes and cabins on the shoreline. The Lake Harding Tract has 3/4 miles of frontage on the backwaters of the lake where you can personally enjoy all these recreational opportunities! A major tributary of Lake Harding is Halawakee Creek, a large creek with multiple rock formations and small waterfalls in certain areas. Halawakee is the northern boundary of The Lake Harding Tract and it has almost 2 miles of frontage on this beautiful creek!
